Whether due to design flaws or engine malfunctions, some car models quickly fall into consumer disfavor. Check out these top 8 car models we don’t mind forgetting to see if any cars you’ve owned made the list.

1933 Fuller Dymaxion

Perhaps too forward-thinking for its time or just downright weird, the 1933 Fuller Dymaxion never gained much favor in the public eye. It was designed as a flying automobile (or a drivable plane) and included jet engines, inflatable wings, and three wheels. Unfortunately, the rear third wheel was deadly wobbly and the entire vehicle was unstable.

1957 Waterman Aerobile

Continuing the fascination with creating a flying car, Waldo Waterman developed the 1957 Waterman Aerobile. With a rear prop and expansive wings, the Aerobile goes down in history as the first real flying car. Unfortunately, it was also a death trap that customers weren’t willing to purchase. As such, the first and only Aerobile ended up in the Smithsonian. continue reading…

Flashback- 7 Old Cars That Should Never Make a Comeback

Apparently, when it comes to automakers, stupidity is an equal opportunity affliction. It seems like every major automotive brand has a woops! model that they’d love to erase from consumers’ memory. While we hail the redo of certain classics like the Dodge Challenger and the revamped ‘Vette, there are some that should remain hidden in history, never to return.

1. Ford Pinto

The Pinto should be relegated to the halls of “worst car design ever” on the merits of looks alone. But add in the fact that Ford’s executives saved a few production bucks by sticking an unprotected rear mounted fuel tank in, causing at least 27 people to burn to death in explosions caused by rear end accidents, and Pinto is our clear winner for #1 car that should never make a comeback. The few million dollars Ford was forced to pay was a small price for a deliberate decision costing human lives to make a cheap car.

Many people don’t realize just how easy some car repairs are. They don’t take a lot of time, and depending on the car, some of these repairs can take just a few minutes. When you do your own car repairs, you get a better feel for the vehicle, helping you understand potential warning signs in the future. Additionally, you don’t have to worry about breaking the bank getting all the little repairs and upsells. Here are four car maintenance musts to try today.

1. Change the Air Filter

Every time you go in for an oil change, they’re going to ask you if you want to change your air filter, as well. This is something you need to think about before you pay to have it done. First, the air filter doesn’t necessarily need to be changed with every single oil change. In addition, it only takes about five minutes or so to do yourself. Depending on your vehicle, you can even get the filter for less than $15. To change the filter: open the hood, find the air filter, take the current filter out, and put the new filter in. It’s that simple.
